Understanding how the body moves effectively and efficiently can make a big difference in a physical yoga practice. In this workshop, we will discuss 8 key muscles involved in physical asana. We will learn about the contraction and release of each muscle as it pertains to yoga postures. This 90 minute workshop will leave you feeling ready to take your practice to the next level.
Linking yoga and anatomy is one of my passions. I studied kinesiology in college and later found the connection between biomechanics and yoga made perfect sense to me. My goal as an instructor is to teach people how to efficiently support their bodies to reduce risk of injury. My flows are creative and challenging but incorporation of the breath is always a priority. I love pushing the envelope on what a yoga sequence should look like. My classes are mostly themed around anatomy and using certain muscles or muscle groups to create a sequence that gives balance to the mind and body.
